1. Data Accuracy and Best Effort

Politique provides a civic data platform based on public government records (Congress.gov, FEC.gov, OpenStates.org). While we strive for 100% accuracy, our data processing—including matching user fingerprints to voting records—is provided on a "best-effort" basis. We do not warrant that any information is complete, accurate, or current. Politique is not an official government service.

2. AI-Generated Content Disclosure

Portions of this application, including but not limited to "Report Cards," "Tone Analysis," and "Bill Summaries," are generated using Large Language Models (LLMs) provided by third parties (Anthropic). These summaries are for informational purposes only and should not be treated as absolute fact or legal advice.

3. Payments, Subscriptions, and Tokens

Subscriptions ("Informed" and "Power" tiers) and "Token" purchases are processed via Stripe. Tokens are non-refundable digital units used to access specific features (e.g., card generation). Subscriptions are billed on a recurring basis and can be cancelled at any time through your account settings.

4. Prohibited Use

You agree not to use the service for:

  • Automated scraping of our unique derived datasets (Conflict Scores, Fingerprint Vectors).
  • Misleading representation of generated Match Cards or Conflict Receipts (e.g., manual editing of exported card data).
  • Interfering with the security or integrity of our matching engine.

5. Limitation of Liability

In no event shall Politique or its developers be liable for any damages arising out of the use or inability to use the service, even if notified of the possibility of such damage. Your use of the service is at your sole risk.
